Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium Funding was introduced in April 2011 to provide additional support for children who are Looked After and those from low income families, including those eligible for free school meals, either currently or within the last 6 years. The Service Child pupil premium is paid to schools for those pupils whose parents are in the armed forces. Once a family is deemed as no longer eligible for Pupil Premium funding, the child will continue to be allocated money for 6 years after this date (Ever 6).
Universal infant free school meals
Currently, pupils in reception, year 1 and year 2 are entitled to a free school meal due to a different government funding scheme known as universal infant free school meals (UIFSM). UIFSM should not be confused with free schools’ meals and pupil premium. If your child is in reception, year 1 or year 2, you should still register if you receive the following benefits because the school will receive the extra pupil premium funding:
- Universal Credit with an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400.
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guarantee element of Pension Credit
- Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for the four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
- Child Tax Credit (with no Working Tax Credit) with an annual income of no more than £16,190

The individual context and demographic of our school has been taken into account when considering how to acknowledge and address potential issues and barriers to learning a child may experience during their time at Manor Farm Community Infant School. The funding is used by school to help narrow the attainment gap between those children eligible to receive additional funding and those who are not eligible. The school decides where and how to best use this funding, to ensure every child reaches their full potential at Manor Farm Community Infant School.
