It was wonderful to welcome Jamie from ‘Rocksteady’ to school to run a workshop for our children. The children loved rocking out with Jamie as he introduced the electric guitar, drums and keyboard to them. All of our children learnt to clap along to his beat mimicking the role of the drummer in ‘We will Rock You!’ Some of our budding rockers were then chosen to become part of Jamie’s band playing the instruments as the rest of the school provided the backing vocals. The final result sounded fabulous. We were incredibly proud when Jamie told staff at the end of the day that our school had a high level of musicianship and that the children’s love of music and musical knowledge was clear to see. Rocksteady will be offering group lessons to children after February half term so please do look at the letter in your child’s book bag if you are interested in finding out more about signing up!
